Service Description
8–16 Hour Orientation for New School Leaders This hands-on training program is designed to support new principals as they step into their leadership role with clarity, confidence, and systems already in place. Delivered prior to the start of the school year, the experience provides time to plan, build, and reflect before the demands of staff and students take center stage. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of their leadership responsibilities, learn the district’s evaluation system, and walk away with concrete tools and systems that support a successful first year. Key Focus Areas: Leadership Readiness: Reflect on the principal role, clarify personal leadership goals, and plan for a strong start. Evaluation System Overview: Learn how to navigate the district evaluation tool and prepare for year-long documentation. Calendar Planning: Build a month-by-month scope and sequence of leadership tasks aligned with school and district goals. Communication Systems: Design a communication plan that includes staff updates, family newsletters, and feedback practices. Policies & Procedures: Review current building systems and determine which need clarification, revision, or reinforcement. Curriculum & Materials: Explore principal responsibilities in curriculum implementation, assessment timelines, and instructional support. Plan for materials management, space readiness, and supply systems. School Culture & Climate: Reflect on school-wide practices and outline strategies for positive culture-building from day one. Scenario Practice: Engage in real-life leadership simulations focused on student, staff, and parent interactions. System Building: Dedicated time to create leadership templates and planning tools for newsletters, calendars, staff support, and behavior tracking. Logistics: Format: In-person, virtual, or hybrid Time Commitment: 8–16 hours total, flexible delivery Includes: Editable planning tools, scenario prompts, calendars, communication templates, and checklists for building readiness This program supports new principals in developing proactive leadership habits and building the essential systems needed to lead with purpose and positivity.
